Mckenzie made CHS cheer!!!

Well this last week was a little stressful, Mckenzie was trying out for the highschool cheer team. She will be a freshman next year at Cedarcrest highschool and Kayla will be a junior. (wow I am old)  Anyways, after a long week of tryouts, tears, and no sleep, Kenzie made the team!  This is very exciting news around our house. As if our schedule wasn't already busy with drill, young women, activity days, cubscouts, our callings, band ,choir, and homework, we have now added cheer. Life is crazy around here and it just got crazier, but we are happy for Mckenzie!

In the fall Lexie will start middle school at Tolt, Calvin will be a fourth grader and Max will be in pre-K 3 times a week. Wow where has the time gone? I feel like everthing is going so fast now. Before we know it our kids will all be grown. Mike and I are trying to enjoy every minute we have with them because this is the funnest time of our lives.

I am so lucky to have such fun kids, they are all so special in their own way. I am so proud of the choices they are making in their lives and the testimonies they are building. I am the luckiest mom in the world!

3rd in State

Cedarcrest Drill team won 3rd in state this year at the Sundome in Yakima. They were AMAZING!!!
The team has worked so hard this year and it showed at state. This is Kayla's second year of drill and she loves it. Mike and I left the kids with my dad and headed down to Yakima by ourselves Friday morning. Mike had been in Florida all week for work, so I was excited to have him to myself all day. After we watched Cedarcrest perform, we went to a movie and lunch. We even fit in a little antique shopping. What a great day!!

Kayla and her best friend Clara May shared a room together at the hotel along with 2 other good friends,(Kate and Kelsey) they all stayed up way too late and had a great time.

Kayla's drill team has 34 girls on it this year. That is a huge team which makes it harder to get things looking perfect. But they seemed to pull it off. I am such a proud Drill Mom!

Nelson Family Pictures Summer 2010

My Amazing friend Kjrsten Madsen,(who lives in Oregon) came to our beach house and took our pictures. She did an amazing job, I am really happy with them.

It's been awhile

Well I went a whole year without blogging. Wow, how the time flies by. We had lots of fun in 2010. Here are some of the things we did this summer.
In June right after the kids got out of school, Mike took me to a golf resort in Arizona. He golfed and I layed by the pool and read. I got a massage at the spa. It was amazing!!!The kids stayed at the May's house for the weekend.

Mike took the three girls on a backpacking trip to Ross lake. This was the 2nd summer they have done this. Mike loves his girls.

We camped with friends at Potholes. We stayed in a beach house on the Oregon coast with the Ward Family.
Mike took Max and Calvin on the father and son campout. Kayla went to Drill camp and E.F.Y. We had a Clifton family reunion that was amazing.
Calvin had Cubscout day camp for a week.
