C.H.S. cheer goes to State

The C.H.S. cheer squad has traditionally not competed at all. Well this year they got a new coach and she wants the girls to be able to get cheer scholarships to pay for college. So for them to qualify for those scholarships, they need to do at least one competition a year. After 2 weeks of practicing and learning the routine, they competed at Skyline High School. We didn't know what to expect.
The squad did an amazing job and won 2nd in their category. (2A non-tumbling coed)

They also qualified for state, which happened to be the next weekend. It was so much fun to see all the hard work pay off.

The next weekend they won 4th in state. They looked so good! What a great experience for Mckenzie. She goes up so high in the basket toss and she loves every minute of it. This picture was taken by a reporter, he took it right as she was getting thrown up. I love the look on her face.

Mckenzie made CHS cheer!!!

Well this last week was a little stressful, Mckenzie was trying out for the highschool cheer team. She will be a freshman next year at Cedarcrest highschool and Kayla will be a junior. (wow I am old)  Anyways, after a long week of tryouts, tears, and no sleep, Kenzie made the team!  This is very exciting news around our house. As if our schedule wasn't already busy with drill, young women, activity days, cubscouts, our callings, band ,choir, and homework, we have now added cheer. Life is crazy around here and it just got crazier, but we are happy for Mckenzie!

In the fall Lexie will start middle school at Tolt, Calvin will be a fourth grader and Max will be in pre-K 3 times a week. Wow where has the time gone? I feel like everthing is going so fast now. Before we know it our kids will all be grown. Mike and I are trying to enjoy every minute we have with them because this is the funnest time of our lives.

I am so lucky to have such fun kids, they are all so special in their own way. I am so proud of the choices they are making in their lives and the testimonies they are building. I am the luckiest mom in the world!
